This
pattern entitled, "Borrowed Time," reproduces alphabets, numerals,
designs and colors from 17th and 18th century samplers. Don't be alarmed
to see the letter "J" missing from the alphabets in this pattern.
Early samplers and many reproductions today omit the "J" because it
was not part of the English alphabet until the middle 17th century.
The
beautiful samplers created by industrious young hands of years ago have a
special place in my heart. By employing designs of yesterday in today's
patterns, this and future generations may come to appreciate and enjoy the fine
stitchery of stitchers of the past.
