Chart Corrections

Mistakes happen and I will do everything I can to correct and make my charts right.  These things are usually brought to my attention by very observant people who are in the process of stitching a design when they notice the error.  I'm contacted by phone, e-mail or flagged down on the street, but I don't mind and appreciate being made aware of errors.  I will post here errors or clarifications to charts that I've found or have been brought to my attention.  I apologize for any inconvenience these mistakes may have caused you.

THE BRIDE'S TREE ORNAMENT COLLECTION - BOOK 3:

It has been brought to my attention that the first printing of this book has several symbol errors.

Error #1: The symbol for the color Whitewash is missing. The symbol is a dot  .  and is used in the Santa,  Angel and Teapot.  I have manually inserted the dot in the key of the charts I have on hand after the mistake was noticed and it will be corrected if I go into a second printing.

Error #2:  The symbol used for Beige is an upside down L but you won't find it in the symbol key.  I have incorrectly listed the symbol for Beige in the KEY as a small zero.  Beige is used in the Goodwill design (Santa) and Hospitality design (teapot) and you will see the upside down L.  Wherever you see an upside down L in the charts, please use Beige.

I will be printing up corrected Symbol Keys to be included in all future charts sold.  I apologize for these errors and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

STARS AND MOON BABY SAMPLER:

This mistake shows up in the first printing of this leaflet.  If you have a chart with a teddy bear on the cover you have a first printing chart.  The left and right border columns on page two of the leaflet have a symbol that is not listed on the Symbol Key.  In place of the symbol that looks like a block with the bottom half black and the top half clear, please substitute the black heart or DMC #564.  The border columns should look the same as on page one.  The second printing of this chart (it has a lamb on the cover) in July, 2002, has this mistake corrected.

COTTON CANDY:

On May 11, 2001, it was discovered that many stitches are missing from the chart for the bottom fence area; specifically, the vertical white posts.  Somehow, before final printing, the symbol for Silk 'N Colors™ Snow Creme got deleted on page two and stitches using this color do not show.  Because of the amount of stitches that are missing, I would be glad to send a correction to anyone who has purchased this chart.  Please contact me by email with your snail mail address, and I will send you the chart correction.

**If you'd rather not wait for a mailed correction...**

1.  Please add two Snow Creme cross stitches to the bottom butterfly (the ~ symbol).  This butterfly should be identical to the top left butterflies.

2:  Do you see the gold backstitch lines for the bottom fence posts?  Underneath these lines should be two 1/4 stitches on each post.  Each post should then be filled in around the flowers with Snow Creme (the ~ symbol) and ending up even with the Desert Dawn flowers (the + symbol) on the bottom.  Each fence post should be 11 stitches high including the 1/4 stitched top.

THE SWING:

It has been brought to my attention that two symbols for Quarter Stitches are missing in the girl's sleeves.

#1:  Looking at the chart, from the right count over 6 blocks and then down 4 blocks. You will be in the block with the girl's arm and top sleeve.  In that block and from the right, cover over 3 squares and down 9 squares.  See what's missing?  Do the bottom half of that stitch with a Quarter Stitch in  #504 (1042).

#2: Looking at the chart, from the right count over 6 blocks and then down 5 blocks. You will be in the block with the bottom sleeve.  In that block and from the right, count over 2 squares.  In that square you will see a Quarter stitch missing.  Do the top Quarter Stitch with #928 (274).

FOREST TREASURES:

It has been brought to my attention that the diagram for the Leaf Stitch is a bit confusing.  I agree.  The diagram seems to indicate that this stitch is stitched over one thread and, if done, would make the finished stitch much smaller than I had planned.  If you read the instructions next to the diagram, you will see it indicates the each square represents two threads on linen fabric which will enlarge the outcome.  You may find it easier to follow the Leaf Stitch row on the back cover

WINTER WONDERLAND:

The fiber list calls for DMC #9999 White.  Oops, there is no white by this number.  Please use Blanc (white).

SPRING'S GRACE SAMPLER:

It has been brought to my attention that on the chart Sections 7 and 13, which are identical, are missing a Backstitch at the end of the rows.  Please add one horizontal Backstitch to each row.  When you look at the row, you will see immediately where I mean.

GRANDMA SAYS:

OK, I really feel foolish here and JUST discovered this mistake while typing this web page. It seems there is a bit of a discrepancy between the cover photo of  "Congrats" and the chart.  The chart shows three French Knots after Congrats--the cover does not.  Add the French Knots if you don't mind doing them, or leave them off as I did--but really, I didn't do it intentionally!!

JOY:

The 16 stray blocks that are Rhodes stitches should be stitched with Holiday Wildflowers (use the red areas of the skein) NOT Emerald Wildflowers as stated on the chart.
