During
the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, linen, cotton and wool
fibers were spun at home to create plain-weave fabrics and used for
everyday sewing projects. Homespun fabric is endearing with its
graphic checks, plaids and stripes. Collectors today love it for its
simplicity of design as well as the feel of the natural fibers.
Something
In Common's first Christmas pattern, Homespun Holiday, draws out the
appeal of homespun fabric with its muted squares and primitive forest
designs along with a spirited display of Christmas colors.
