If you have a dear friend, spouse or significant other in your life whose friendship means a lot to you, stitching this design might be a way for you to express your feelings.  With a serious look on his face and with arms on the girl's shoulders, the young man is looking straight into her eyes and professing his unending friendship.  This is an adaptation of a very old Dutch postcard and I think the quaint sentiment rings as true today as it did years ago.

        I hear dem say "old friends iss best"
        Und I hope as der years go by,
        You stand by me und I, by you,
        Und we be "old friends" you und I!
