MEG SEDDON

Back

I co-own a needlework shop with my parents in Colorado Springs, CO called Needle Nutz, Inc. We have been in business for four years now.  I have been stitching in some form since I was about two.  My parents were trying to develop by eye to hand coordination since I am a "southpaw."  I began stitching in earnest when I got out of college and my parents opened a needlepoint shop here in town.  I did a bit of needlepoint but my real love has always been cross stitch.  Whenever I was out of work, I was always stitching.  Stitching has helped me get through bad periods in my life.

I became interested in band samplers as a way of learning new stitches.  I've become very brave now and I'm willing to try just about any stitch.  I am very lucky that I get to own a shop that's also my hobby.  One of the perks is that I get to bring my Old English Sheepdog, Bailey, to the shop every day.  He's quite the hit with children and most of the customers that come in here.  Sometimes I think they come to see him and buying needlework supplies is a second thought.

I'm married to Andy Seddon, a South African by birth.  He is very supportive of my obsession.  He even named the shop we currently own.  He helps me with the cross stitch charts I am currently doing for the shop and he tries to give me ideas as well.  He's the computer operator for me.  When I am not stitching models for the shop or trying out new design concepts, I am brushing Bailey..  Bailey keeps both of us busy as he's on the show circuit which makes for very busy weekends.  I get to stitch to and from shows, but seldom have the time while prepping Bailey for the show ring.
