Hi!
I'm Susie Passmore and I live in Dover, Massachusetts, with my husband, Lincoln
(a family lawyer and an Athletic Director/Football coach at the Dover-Sherborn
Regional High School), my two children (a son Jared and a daughter Cameron),
and two Portuguese Water Dogs (Tagus and Magellan). Arts and crafts have
always been an area of interest and enjoyment for me, especially in
needlework. I love stitching, creating designs, and working with
colors. Making something of my own, to give as a gift, is very
fulfilling. I enjoy seeing the recipient's reaction when I have hit on
just the right thing!
I hope that my designs enable you to have fun and experience a feeling of accomplishment and pride. Enjoy!
My appreciation of stitching and sewing began as a little girl. My grandmother was always making clothes for my dolls and she could mend anything and make it look better than it did originally with the small flourishes she added. Crocheting and embroidery were always underway with my great-grandmother and I am fortunate to have many of the linens that they both designed and worked. My mother was adept at crewel and I always loved sorting the colors for the pieces. My first foray was in canvaswork and today I still love to have a needlepoint piece in progress.
I have always loved to color in coloring books and still do! First as a youngster, then with my son and daughter, and now with young niece and nephews. Drawing designs and working them out on graph paper seems to be my extension of this. I just like to COLOR! Cross stitching to me is coloring on cloth and the finished product can be out to enjoy, instead of left inside a book.
I have been stitching, be it cross stitch, needlepoint, embroidery, or making Halloween costumes, since I was in high school. My favorite time is the Christmas season! Having designed and stitched Christmas stockings for my children and other members of the family, I have wanted to share these ideas with others. Hence, CHIMNEY SOCKS, was born. These designs are original, easy to read, and fun to stitch. They are created with the busy Mom in mind, who would like to be able to finish the stocking while the children are still young.
